Cacao Goji Berry Smoothie



Have you jumped on the juicing or blending bandwagon yet? Normally my husband and I whip up a power-packed green smoothie that, you know, tastes healthy. But who said you have to trade in kale for rich velvety deliciousness? With a couple of Superfood additions, raw cacao and goji berries, I have transformed a nutrient dense kale smoothie into a chocolate-berry treat!

If you’re new to goji berries – theses red little berries are loaded with nutrients! Packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and protein. In fact, just one single goji berry contains over 21 trace minerals, vitamins A, C, E, zinc, iron, copper, calcium and if that’s not enough – 18 different amino acids. These berries may be quite small but they contain BIG stuff! Ounce for ounce, they contain more beta-carotene than carrots, more vitamin C than oranges and more iron than spinach. Wowza!

Ingredients
1 ½ cups of unsweetened almond milk
2 large handfuls of kale
1/4 cup of raw cashews
1 frozen banana
1 medjool date, pit removed
2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
2 tablespoons of goji berries
Large handful of ice

Directions
Toss all ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour the smoothie into a tall glass, sprinkle with goji berries and slurp down with a pretty straw.
